Enticing Deutch Odyssey

Attended a big party on Saturday.. It was held in a big big hall...Parties here mean they start late and end late (ppl come at 10 or 11, go home at 3 or 4, party ends at 5am, starts at 8pm), lotsa alcohol, lotsa cigarettes, lotsa music n dancing.... I was there with my host sis n host bro, 16 n 19 respectively.. Was a lil boring initially, didnt noe how to kill time.. couldnt speak to ppl, need not mentioning girls.. But eventually, it was ok.. Talked to some ppl, they were kind enough to initiate the 'speak english movement' when im around.. However, it didnt last long.. LOLZ.. At 12 most of my frens left because they had this enterance chop on their hands indicating they were below 18.. Amazingly, for some reason (maybe because of my no-problem-look), at the enterance, i was given this chop indicating i was 18 n above.. (Only those who are 18 n above can stay past 12 midnight).. So, to dear frens of mine who claims i have FACE PROBLEM.. ive proved u wrong! LOLZ!! Haha... After my frens left, by accident i met this girl frm the year 13, (im in year 11) who was an xchange student in Japan.. So, we talked... Was cool.. Throat was a lil sore later, we were pratically almost shouting, trying to beat the music... Well, went home at 1.. The party was ok, but could have been better if i spoke deutsch.. :) Till next time, chao..

Mixing well with classmates.. Went for guitar lessons at a church yesterday with my host sis, bro n mother n some other ppl as well.. I thought i sucked totally in guitar after slacking for one year.. But to my chagrin, when i arrived there, all of them passed their guitars to the priest to tune.. (normally we do it ourselves) n they started the lessons.. haha.. it went like that.. 1 n 2 n play F, G, A... A, G, F... then, F, F#, G,G#, A... PIAK! haha... But, it was ok.. i just played along.. The priest said i was their motivation coz i was the guest n i was playing very well.. ( their definition of well, i could strum F G A fast.. =.=') But anw.. yea, i was the best there.. Didnt expect that.. but im hoping to learn from a couple of my classmates who play in the schoolband.. Today had spanish lessons.. was interesting.. Has lil similarities with english...Anw, 2mrw there'll be a school ski party.. Hope to meet more ppl there.. N perhaps will be going to snowboard at the harz (a mountain region near my place) this weekend... Vale, harta luego... Chao.. Spanish: Alrights, till then.. Bye.. :)

After 12 hours of flight, other AFS-ers and i arrived safe and sound in Frankfurt airport... 18th Feb 2006 8am (German time) The volunteers were waiting for us at the arrival terminal then brought us to the waiting lounge to wait for our train.. They prepared drinks n sandwiches.. First culture shock, they dont drink water... They drink carbonated water, some said it tasted like panadol soluble.. so .. :) Boarded the train to Göttingen at 10:30.. Travelled up north west.. Upon reaching the station, i was greeted by my host family's siblings... They were very nice ppl.. Travelled another 1 hour by car to their village (where im living now).. Its called Gittelde.. 2000 inhabitants only.. :S But the surroundings are nice.. mountains.. very impressive... My host parents greeted me at the door then everyone settled down at the dinning table for tea.. Host mother, tina, baked a welcome cake for me.. How sweet..I rested then packed my room... Was still jet lagged, so was pretty tired.. After dinner, went to bed..

The next morning, afer breakfast, tina explained everything bout my stay there.. do's n donts.. etc.. It took up about 2 hours... Hehe.. Heres the nice part.. After that, they brought me to the Hartz (mountain region.. popular in the north west) to sledge.. Was very beautiful indeed.. Had a great time...The mountains covered in snow etc.. Heres another shock, i saw a lady skiing, uphill.. (=.=' sweat) with her husky chained on to her, pulling her uphill... At night, went to an Italian restaurant for dinner.. Ate pizzas.. These ppl really can eat.. Inagine almost 2 large pizzas to yourself.. Aiks.. I ate a quarter half.. the best i could do... The remaining, da bao.. hehe.. apparently its quite common here too...

The first day of school... It was cool.. Joined my host sister's class temporarily as the headmistress wasnt free.. The people were very friendly.. The first lesson i participated in was german class.. They had group discussions.. Topic: The girls are:??? n the guys are:??? Haha.. Very interesting.. I joined the guys group and was blessed to befren a guy by the name patrick as he speaks english well, comparatively.. The guys were saying girls are stupid, throw up faster than guys when they drink, die younger etc... The girls claimed guys are also stupid blah blah..... haha...Many of my classmates were ammuused as i could write n speak chinese.. They were like WOAHHHHH!!! haha... Later on, we were starting to communicate, with a lil german, a lil english, and plenty of hands n feet... Classmates started pointing out which teacher was BABI SIAO, which teacher was play-able, who in class was what.. I like the class... However, i have to change my class as it isnt advisable to join the same class as your host.. in my case, my host sister's class... At night, i tried to come up with chinese names for all of my classmates, but i couldnt haha... Just managed to complete some... Not all! Now i know where i stand in my chinese.. haha... Oh yea, and i have to say, now i know how lili feels.. Here, im small, short etc... sniff.. haha.. sorry lili, welcome me to the gang? Haha!

Gave them their chinese names.. They were impressed! haha... Im blogging frm the school.. Now computer class.. Erm, at home, there is only 100 hours of internet time a month, so i cant use it frequently.. So ply bare with me replying late, but i will reply! :) Will post some pictures later... Gtg.. Chao!

Well, had been busy doing lotsa last minute stuff these days... So didnt have time to blog bout the recent small gathering i had at my place last friday.. Well, everything went gr8... Was delighted to see groups of friends hanging out together once again after high school.. The laughter, the gay-ness, good memories... everything! We ate, chatted, took pictures... oh, n gambled as well (DAMN Chern Han.. This fellow has seriously good luck!) Thought of entertaining Chern Han, pulled out 5 bucks n played black jack.. Lost everything.. aiks.. after that, i quit... Everyone was having a gr8 time.. At approximately 11 30 i think, almost everyone was gone.. Only a couple of humans left.. Yi Siin left the latest around 12 30 because her dad was talking to my mom..

I was indeed overwhelmed with joy particularly coz i managed to catch up with a long forsaken dear friendship...I was really delighted.. really didnt see it coming.. Though things will never be the same, i'm nevertheless most thankful!

Thanks to everyone whose presence lightened up the atmosphere... Thanks to everyone for the gifts... There were several meaningful ones... Thanks Yi Siin for taking the trouble to embroid RED DEVILS on the cap.. Thanks Wei Ping for approving it though you're very much a gunner... haha.. Many thanks to Kim Chew as well for that wonderful poem.. Really appreciate it!
